On the morning of June 5, Mayor Ding Chung met with Abdulkadir Emin Önen, Turkish Ambassador to China, and his delegation at the Administration Center.
In recent years, under the Belt and Road Initiative, the bilateral economic and trade cooperation between China and Turkey has achieved leapfrog development. In 2009, Changzhou and Eskisehir of Turkey entered into an international friendship-city relationship. Since then, a group of well-known Turkish companies have invested and set up plants in Changzhou. From January to April this year, the total import and export between Changzhou and Turkey reached 130 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 34.1% year-on-year.
Ding Chun hoped that the two sides will seize the opportunities for the development of Belt and Road, enhance economic and trade cooperation, and promote the development of education, tourism, culture and people-to-people exchanges, in order to achieve win-win cooperation in various fields.
Abdulkadir Emin Önen stated that Changzhou is a city with great potential for development and they are looking forward to working more closely with Changzhou.
