On June 12, the China Skills Competition 2018, which serves as the National Selection Competition for the 45th WorldSkills Competition, kicked off in Shanghai. 17 contestants from Changzhou, as part of the Jiangsu delegation, attended the competition. They will compete in nine events including industrial mechanic millwright competition.
Held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) until June 15, the Shanghai leg of the competition will feature about 900 contestants from 46 delegations across the country who will compete in 34 events including automobile technology, carpentry and mechatronics.
The second part of the China Skills Competition 2018 will be held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, from June 21 to 28.
Last year, the Chinese delegation of 52 competitors, led the gold medal count at the 44th WorldSkills Competition. They participated in 47 disciplines and won 15 gold medals, seven silver medals and eight bronze medals, marking the best performance by a Chinese delegation in the competition since it joined WorldSkills in 2010. Song Biao from Changzhou Technician College, who joined the industrial mechanic millwright competition, was awarded the Albert Vidal Award for the highest score in the WorldSkills Competition.
