Changzhou, classified among the first group of green and livable urban areas in Jiangsu province, took the lead in building a City Information Modelling (CIM) platform in the core area of Changzhou High-speed Rail New Town, according to the Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development earlier this month.
Using the data derived from other smart city tools such as the green building operation & management system and smart energy management system, the CIM platform links infrastructure to its urban context, allowing architects, planners and other professionals to collaborate on city-wide projects and designs.
All relevant information of Changzhou’s green urban area projects will be integrated into the CIM platform, so that all resources are shared, enabling high-efficient management across such areas. Moreover, the platform has the ability to visualize how a green and livable urban area is functioning in real-time, allowing the developers and management to conduct performance analysis more effectively and carry out more accurate assessments.
