On October 11, the 2020 Changzhou West Taihu Half Marathon & Grand Canal Marathon (Changzhou) kicked off at Wujin Flower Expo Park. About 5,000 people participated in the half marathon. Vice mayor Chen Zhengchun attended the opening ceremony.

The event, jointly hosted by the Publicity Department of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, Jiangsu Sports Administration and Changzhou Municipal People’s Government, is also the first stop of the Grand Canal Marathon.

Cheng Qianyu and Liu Zhuang, both Changzhou locals, claimed first places at 1:07:35 and 1:16:56 respectively in the men’s and women’s races.

It is learned that this year’s West Taihu Half Marathon for the first time adopted the intelligent system, a big data platform for sporting event management developed by Chang Ao Sports.

In addition, the organizing committee carried out necessary epidemic prevention and control measures under the guidance of the relevant departments of Changzhou, ensuring health and safety of the participants and event staff.
