Recently, Deputy Mayor Chen Zhengchun led a delegation to Switzerland and Germany, and was invited to attend the first Sino-Swiss high-level platform in Zurich on Monday, 21 January. The business event, which forms part of the innovative strategic partnership between the two countries, focuses on the theme: ‘Digitalisation Drives Innovation’.
The high-level platform is run by the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER) and the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) together with the Swiss business community. Representatives from a variety of sectors and educational institutions attended the event.
At the event, Chen Zhengchun introduced the major achievements of Changzhou during 40 years of reform and opening-up, and presented the future cooperation plan in technological innovation. Changzhou National High-Tech District (CND) signed cooperation agreements with three Swiss companies, including Rieter Group, Venturelab and Afag Holding AG.
The Changzhou delegation also visited Chinese Ambassador to Switzerland Mr. Geng Wenbing and Deputy Consul General in Munich Mr. Cai Hao, as well as relevant officials of the City Council of Winterthur.
