According to the officially released information from the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission, between 00:00 and 24:00, March 18, no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Jiangsu.
As of the 18th of March, 631 confirmed cases have been reported in Jiangsu accumulatively, of which 93 were in Nanjing, 55 were in Wuxi, 79 were Xuzhou, 51 were in Changzhou, 87 were in Suzhou, 40 were in Nantong, 48 were in Lianyungang, 66 were in Huai’an, 27 were in Yancheng, 23 were in Yangzhou, 12 were in Zhenjiang, 37 were in Taizhou, and 13 were in Suqian.
As of this update, all the patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in Jiangsu province have been discharged from the hospital.
Of the traced 12,657 close contacts, 12,644 have been discharged from medical observation, while 13 are still under observation.
According to the Guidelines on Region-Specific and Tiered Response to the COVID-19 Outbreak Through Science-Based and Targeted Policies, low-risk regions should prevent the spread of the virus into their jurisdictions and resume the normal order of production and life across the board.
Experts urge the public to take necessary health precautions and maintain healthy hygiene habits such as wearing a mask when going out, washing your hands frequently, covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, and keeping your room well-ventilated. Avoid crowded places so as to reduce your risk of infection.
