On May 22, Vice Mayor Hang Yong met with a delegation led by Gilberto Fonseca Guimarães de Moura, Consul General of Brazil in Shanghai.
According to the consul-general said, Changzhou was the first city he visited in China outside of Shanghai, which had left a deep impression on him during the first visit. He looked forward to seeing more cooperation unveiled between Changzhou and Brazilian enterprises in terms of industry, technology, and culture. As this year marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of the sister-province relationship between Jiangsu and Minas Gerais, Mayor Hang hoped that the two sides would carry out more cultural exchange activities to enhance cooperation and achieve win-win development.
For years, Changzhou has carried out frequent exchanges with the sister cities in Brazil: Caxias do Sul and Curitiba. In May last year, it donated 12,000 masks to support citizens in the two cities in their fight against Covid-19.
At the end of his visit, the consul came to Changzhou Library, where he donated over 100 books in Portuguese.
