On the afternoon of May 18, the 2020 Sino-German Innovation Collaboration Conference was held in Changzhou Science and Education Town. At the conference, the Sino-German Innovation and Cooperation Center, the Changzhou Alliance for Transnational Technology Transfer (CZPDC) the Innovation and Practice Base of Changzhou Western Returned Scholars Association (CZWRSA) were inaugurated.

Han Jiuyun, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, head of Changzhou United Front Department and secretary of the Party Working Committee of Changzhou Science and Education Town, delivered a speech. Lu Jinlin, vice secretary of the Party Working Committee of Changzhou Science and Education Town and director of the Town’s Administration Committee, presided over the conference.

The event also had the presence of Yang Fen, vice mayor of Changzhou, Qian Mingcheng, president of the Asia Pacific Division of Lanxess Chemical, Stephen Kucifer, general manager of Man Machinery, Zhu Linsheng, president of Jiangsu University of Technology, Xu Shoukun, vice president of Changzhou University, Wu Fangsheng, president of Changzhou Vocational Institute of Engineering, Bei Shaoyi, vice president of Jiangsu University of Technology, Hu Dongqi, general manager of Lanxess Chemical (China), Liu Weiguo, vice secretary-general of Changzhou Municipal Government, Liu Bin, director of Changzhou Science and Technology Bureau, Pan Dongling, director of Changzhou Commerce Bureau, Xue Jianzhong, vice director of Wujin District, Zhu Zhengqing, vice director of Wujin National Hi-Tech Industrial Zone, Chen Gang, vice president of Changzhou College of Information Technology, Zhang Zhenyu, vice president of Changzhou Vocational Institute of Textile and Garment, Tang Jianzhong, vice director of Changzhou United Front Department, Sun Yifeng, vice director of Changzhou Development and Reform Committee, Xu Xiaoping, vice director of Changzhou Education Bureau, Zhang Zhiqiang, vice director of Changzhou Industry and Information Bureau, and Shen Lian, vice director of Changzhou Foreign Affairs Office.

The Sino-German Innovation Park was founded in 2013 under the EU-China Urbanization Partnership. This year, the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government set up a task force for the Park to integrate resources from various departments and industries. Focusing on industrial innovation and cooperation, its targets are to further promote industry-education integration and become a pioneer of international cooperation. The conference, having two centers inaugurated, nine projects signed and five technology fruits released, serves to deepen Changzhou’s cooperation with Germany and promote the city’s industrial restructuring and economic development.
