On the morning of May 19, the 2nd China-Israel Medical Technology Industry Summit Forum was held in Changzhou with the theme of “New Technology, New Health, New Future”. He Wei, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and executive vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (CPWDP), Yang Zhen, vice chairman of the Central Committee of CPWDP, Jiao Hong, director of the State Food and Drug Administration, Zhou Jianmin, vice chairman of the CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, and Wang Quan, secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, attended the event.

The China-Israel Medical Technology Industry Summit Forum is a cross-border exchange project initiated by the Central Committee of CPWDP. This year’s forum was hosted by Changzhou Municipal Government, Wujin District Government, West Taihu Science and Technology Industrial Park and China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park.

He Wei said in his speech that with the continuous promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative, the exchanges and cooperation between China and Israel in medical technology have continued to expand. The China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park has built a complete technology transfer system and has become the first choice for Israeli companies’ technology transfer in China. He hoped that this forum would help promoting the pragmatic cooperation between China and Israel in the field of “big health” and in-depth exchanges on personnel training, scientific research, technology transfer and information sharing, in order to better achieve mutual benefit and common development.

Wang Quan said in his speech that the new medicine and biotechnology industry was one of the strategic emerging industries in Changzhou. The holding of this forum was a great support for the development of Changzhou’s medical technology industry and an innovative exploration of China-Israel cooperation. He stated that Changzhou would follow the momentum of innovation and development of the medical technology industry, actively learn from the advanced experience of the effective integration of the Israeli medical technology industry, vigorously introduce advanced technologies from the Israel and accelerate the upgrading of our medical technology industry.

City leaders Fang Guoqiang, Chen Jianguo and Li Lin attended the opening ceremony of the forum.
