On the morning of October 13, the 8th Jiangsu Vocational Education Innovation Competition was held at the Wujin Campus of Jiangsu Union Technical Institute. Nearly 1,000 teachers and students from Jiangsu’s vocational schools gathered in Wujin to participate in the two-day exhibition and contest. Zhang Xiaohu, Deputy Chief of Wujin District, attended the event.
The competition was jointly sponsored by the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Science and Technology Department. The competition received 470 innovative works from nearly 100 vocational schools in the province. After the initial evaluation, 263 works were selected for the exhibition.
The biennial innovation competition is not only a test of the achievements of vocational education, but also a platform for exchanges, mutual learning and common improvement among teachers and students. Compared with the previous seven competitions, this year’s exhibition pays more attention to the intellectual property protection and technology transfer of innovation achievements, and invites venture capital companies and business representatives to participate in the evaluation. Robotic competition has also been added to improve students' ability to analyze engineering problems by simulating artificial intelligence solutions in industrial applications.
It is reported that 263 works on display involve electronic information, smart devices, new materials and other fields, fully demonstrating the innovation achievements of vocational education in the province over the past two years.
