According to the officially released information from the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission, between 00:00 and 24:00, February 18, Jiangsu had two newly confirmed cases of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19), both of which were moderate cases. 33 additional patients have been cured and were discharged from the hospital.

Of the newly confirmed cases, one was in Nanjing and one was in Changzhou. Both of them are females, aged 43 and 32 respectively. They are currently receiving treatment in designated hospitals and are in stable physical condition.

The newly confirmed case in Changzhou is a resident of Jintan district. She is currently receiving treatment in one of the designated hospitals and is in stable physical condition. 17 people who were in close contact with this patient have been found and are now under medical observation.

As of the 18th of February, 631 confirmed cases have been reported in Jiangsu, of which 51 cases were confirmed in Changzhou. To date, a total of 27 patients in Changzhou diagnosed with the COVID-19 have been cured and have been subsequently discharged from the hospital.

Experts urge people who have traveled to Changzhou from Hubei province or another outbreak area to register at the local community or village committees. You will need to complete a temperature check and report the relevant information. Stay at home for a 14-day medical observation period and pay attention to your physical condition. If symptoms such as fever, cough, chest distress, shortness of breath, fatigue or diarrhea have occurred or occur during the isolation period, call 120 (hotline for emergency care and first aid) or contact your community officers to receive treatment at one of the designated fever clinics.
