With the in-depth promotion and application of 5G Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the lighting industry, in October last year, Changzhou Semiconductor Lighting Application Technology Research Institute, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Fuzhou Internet of Things Open Lab Co., Ltd. and Changzhou Municipal People's Government jointly established the NB-IoT Intelligent Lighting Joint Lab in Wujin National High-Tech Zone (WIZ). On the morning of December 18, the joint lab was officially opened. Wujin District Chief Dai Shifu attended the event.
With wide coverage, large network, low power consumption and high reliability, NB-IoT is an IoT communication technology suitable for smart lighting, smart city and industrial sectors. After the NB-IoT Intelligent Lighting Joint Lab is launched, it will integrate domestic and foreign advantageous innovation resources to form its R&D and service capabilities in the areas of intelligent lighting system development, light health, third-generation semiconductor product packaging and product development, failure detection and analysis, accelerated test methods, reliability design, and so on.
Dai Shifu said that during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, Wujin will actively build a national-level IoT application demonstration base including NB-IoT smart street lamps, smart water meters and smart municipalities. Meanwhile, Wujin will give priority to applying the joint lab’s innovation achievements throughout the district, in order to create a model project.
