According to the officially released information from the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission, between 00:00 and 24:00, February 16, Jiangsu had nine newly confirmed cases of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19). Of the newly confirmed cases, two were in Wuxi, one was in Xuzhou, three were in Changzhou, two were in Huai’an and one was in Yangzhou. 36 additional patients have been cured and were discharged from the hospital.

All the three newly confirmed cases in Changzhou are residents of Jintan district. Patients 47 and 49 are family members of two previously confirmed cases in Jintan. Patient 48 is a nurse working at Jintan District People’s Hospital. All of them are currently receiving treatment in designated hospitals and are in stable physical condition. 35 people who were in close contact with these patients have been found and are now under medical quarantine.

As of the 16th of February, 626 confirmed cases have been reported in Jiangsu, of which 49 cases were confirmed in Changzhou. To date, a total of 21 patients in Changzhou diagnosed with the COVID-19 have been cured and have been subsequently discharged from the hospital.

Experts urge people who have traveled to Changzhou from Hubei province or another outbreak area to register at the local community or village committees. You will need to complete a temperature check and report the relevant information. Stay at home for a 14-day medical observation period and pay attention to your physical condition. If symptoms such as fever, cough, chest distress, shortness of breath, fatigue or diarrhea have occurred or occur during the isolation period, call 120 (hotline for emergency care and first aid) or contact your community officers to receive treatment at one of the designated fever clinics.
