Changzhou's tourism industry saw robust growth in both revenue and the number of visitors during the week-long Spring Festival holiday, according to data from the local authority.
Changzhou recorded a total of 2,280,400 trips made by tourists and grossed 2.454 billion in tourism revenue between Feb 4 to 10, an increase of 3.49% and 6.43%, respectively, year-on-year.
The Universal Dinosaur Town received 475,000 tourists, up 3.5%, and the operating income achieved 46.64 million yuan, an increase of 10.44%. Tianmu Lake Tourist Resort received 349,000 tourists, up 6.89%, and the operating income reached 4,965,100 yuan, an increase of 5.39%. The Spring and Autumn Yancheng Tourist Area received 154,900 tourists and the operating income was 23.329 million yuan.
Thanks to better transport facilities, more and more Changzhou people opted to travel during the Spring Festival holiday. Various folk activities, including flower fairs, temple fairs and lantern shows, were held to celebrate the holiday and attract tourists.
