Update: No new confirmed cases reported in Jiangsu

According to the officially released information from the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission, between 00:00 and 24:00, March 17, no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Jiangsu.

As of the 17th of March, 631 confirmed cases have been reported in Jiangsu accumulatively, of which 93 were in Nanjing, 55 were in Wuxi, 79 were Xuzhou, 51 were in Changzhou, 87 were in Suzhou, 40 were in Nantong, 48 were in Lianyungang, 66 were in Huai’an, 27 were in Yancheng, 23 were in Yangzhou, 12 were in Zhenjiang, 37 were in Taizhou, and 13 were in Suqian.

As of this update, all the patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in Jiangsu province have been discharged from the hospital.

Of the traced 12,652 close contacts, 12,644 have been discharged from medical observation, while 8 are still under observation.

According to the Guidelines on Region-Specific and Tiered Response to the COVID-19 Outbreak Through Science-Based and Targeted Policies, low-risk regions should prevent the spread of the virus into their jurisdictions and resume the normal order of production and life across the board.

Experts urge the public to take necessary health precautions and maintain healthy hygiene habits such as wearing a mask when going out, washing your hands frequently, covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, and keeping your room well-ventilated. Avoid crowded places so as to reduce your risk of infection.

Recently, the scheduling system will be implemented in all hospitals at or above level-II in the province. In order to avoid gathering in enclosed areas and to reduce hospital wait times, please make an appointment via online services, telephone or a patient check-in kiosk.

Guidelines for using a “health code” have been implemented across the province as a preventive anti-epidemic measure. If you want to be able to participate in many of the newly reopened public spaces within the city, you will need to register for a Changzhou Health Code via the My Changzhou app. You may also sign up for a Jiangsu Health Code via your Alipay account to enter public places in other cities in the Yangtze River Delta.
