According to the officially released information from the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission, between 00:00 and 24:00, April 12, no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Jiangsu.
As of this update, a total of 22 imported cases have been reported in the province, of which seven patients have been discharged from hospital. No new confirmed local cases were reported in Jiangsu. All the previously confirmed 631 local cases in the province have been discharged from hospital.
On the 12th of April, another asymptomatic carrier was identified, while two cases were discharged from medical quarantine. As of this update, 11 asymptomatic cases are still under quarantine, nine of which were imported cases.
Of the traced 13,616 close contacts, 13,241 have been discharged from medical observation, while 375 are still under observation.
From April 8, Wuhan, Hubei province has lifted outbound travel restrictions and resumed operation of railways, airports, waterways and highways in an orderly way after 76 days of lockdown to stem the spread of COVID-19. However, experts urge the public to continue to observe hygiene advisories as the epidemic is not yet over. Unnecessary gatherings and travel plans are still not recommended. Social distancing measures must be kept up. All Jiangsu-bound passengers must comply with the regulations for pandemic control, truthfully declare their travel history and health condition, and report to their employers and residential communities prior to the return journey. Those who visited or returned to Jiangsu from abroad should seek treatment at designated fever clinics if symptoms such as fever or cough occurs, and report their whereabouts during the past two weeks.
